Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work at a school where 100% of our students are newcomers which means they are all new to the country. Many of our students do not come with the means or items necessary for school and living. Having these items for students at the ready will help them in school and at home.
Bandaids will be amazing to have in the classroom as many times students fall and get hurt but do not necessarily need to go to the nurse.
Many of my students do not have socks and also outgrow them as well as their clothing. The extra clothing will help when a student rips their pants or outgrows their clothing which happens often with little kids. Ponytails will help when students need to put their hair up and I do not have extra. Belts are always needed if pants are too big but that is the only size we have.
Lastly, the snacks will be eaten at the end of the day before students go home. Many times students get their food from school and this will help when students say they are hungry.
These items are very necessary for our children and these items will help my class so much!
