This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are ready to learn and be part of what makes our school a safe place to thrive. We are in a high poverty area and we take the term, "inner city" to new heights. My superstar second graders know I love them and will be their advocates even when the going gets really tough.

My classroom is boiling over with the good energy and vibes that it takes to give these dynamite kiddos the start they need and so desire.

I am the lucky one to be a teacher at this school. Never enough resources, always tons of understanding and empathy.

My Project

The Chromebook and document camera will enable my students to take their computer based assessments and our classwork to the next level. Too often times, we find ourselves saying, "Sorry, we cannot do that today ," or "The computers are down." It can be so frustrating. I want to be able to say, "Yes," to more rigorous student work and effort.

My students are more than just an assessment score; they are kids trying to be their best and break a vicious cycle.

My students want to go to college. They see their parents finally doing it and know it can be in their futures too.
