This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are inspiring!
Though they attend a Title 1 school in rural Mississippi, are mostly from impoverished homes, and have significant learning differences, they our students enjoy school for the most part and almost always power through their challenges with determined perseverance.
They come to Dyslexia Therapy asking excitedly with bright eyes, “What’s our new learning today, Mrs. Keel?” We teach, re-teach, scaffold and support and encourage until they are able to experience that feeling of success every child deserves.
My Project
Easy access to chrome books within our resource room will give our students the ability to utilize online resources and participate more efficiently and effectively in their reading and math interventions.
During this small group time, our students will receive the extra, individual support and reinforcement they need to be successful and CLOSE THOSE ACHIEVEMENT GAPS!
These include the Fast ForWord Reading Program, Reflex Math, Moby Max, Accelerated Reader, Tumble Books, Epic and Learning Farm.
Because our students perform below grade level in reading and/or math, they often need extra intervention and reinforcements unavailable in the regular education classroom in order to advance and experience success in these programs.
