Help me give my students technology that works and classroom supplies that allow me to teach and be intentional. Covid has created a need for educators to be intentional with everything that they do.

My Students

My class is made up of three different grade levels. I teach special education grades 7,8,9th and a directed studies class. The students in my class vary from 1st-grade level to grade level. They all have the potential, but some students need more support. This project is to engage the students. Covid has left gaps and in special education, those gaps are more apparent. Socially and emotionally the impacts are enough to impact all other aspects of school.

My Project

Covid has caused a large gap in learning. The learning is apparent in my students with Cognitive impairments and those who do not have at-home support to help with homework. I need to be intentional and having supplies to make the planning and teaching process easier will help my students access the curriculum in meaningful ways. In middle school, students are so self-conscious that noise-canceling earphones can be used. The supplies will give students hands-on experience. Providing more hands-on opportunities. Allowing students to enjoy learning again (lack of engagement because of the gap is apparent).The students are struggling to fully engage in class and adding electronics and additional supplies will help create a strong classroom community in which they may become
