Covid has caused a large gap in learning. The learning is apparent in my students with Cognitive impairments and those who do not have at-home support to help with homework. I need to be intentional and having supplies to make the planning and teaching process easier will help my students access the curriculum in meaningful ways. In middle school, students are so self-conscious that noise-canceling earphones can be used. The supplies will give students hands-on experience. Providing more hands-on opportunities. Allowing students to enjoy learning again (lack of engagement because of the gap is apparent).The students are struggling to fully engage in class and adding electronics and additional supplies will help create a strong classroom community in which they may become Self-directed learners Covid has created more barriers than the students already face with having a disability.
