This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We are a Title I school where not every student can afford classroom essentials. Among all the materials, I need help with providing students with clipboards because they help my students greatly in many ways. My students use clipboards often, especially during the English language arts block (reading and writing) and Math. Using the workshop model, students come to the classroom carpet with clipboards for guided practice. During the lesson block, I also meet with small groups of students for targeted instruction while the rest of the class works independently. Many of my students choose to work in a variety of locations around the classroom, such as at different tables, on the carpet, or by the library corner during independent work time.
Students need clipboards to be able to write on a hard surface instead of using their knees as a writing surface.
The clipboards are great tools for students to utilize as they work toward mastering the grade-level standards. Any donation will be greatly appreciated.
