This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am the School Nurse MA for an inner-city, Title I, public school in Dallas, TX. Our school now consists of 1400 middle school scholars in grades 6-8. Our clinic is very busy and we assist our students for varying degrees of medical reasons, from daily medication administrations, to injuries, to life-threatening situations!

Many of our students and families rely on our expert care for their healthcare needs.

We assist students and families with personal care, nutritional counseling, finding resources and answering all questions related to their health and wellness.

My Project

My project is for snacks and supplies for my middle school clinic. Many days students stay after school for athletics, practice, or tutoring! Often times they come to ask for something to eat.

These snacks will ensure that my students have something to eat after school.

Also requested are general office supplies (highlighters, pins for our monthly health bulletin board and laminating paper for bulletin board information) and student use items. The heavy duty tape is used to protect student clinic passes. Labels are utilized for students medication boxes and supplies. Wax is for students with braces. Safety pins are used for torn clothing or broken buttons. Super glue is used to fix broken eye glasses. Students have requested markers, tape and highlighters to complete thank you cards! These items may seem unconventional for a clinic but are all necessities for a middle school clinic!
