This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Having the ability to climb, jump, play, and move around in the classroom would be amazing for our students! For my special education students, the use of the climbing play set, the spinning chair, the foam play set, and the stepping stones are all items that will make a positive impact on them overall.

As a special education teacher, I do not always know how to help my students or understand their needs, but what I do know is that these items will help them self-regulate, they will help them decompress, gain confidence in themselves, problem solve, and so much more!

The climbing play set will benefit the students by developing their physical, cognitive, social, and emotional skills. The stepping stones will help them improve their coordination and thinking skills. For example, they will have to think through what they are doing and problem-solve what they need to do next to cross the stepping stones. The students also have to think about what stepping stone would be the next to step on. The foam play set and wooden play set will help the students self-regulate and decompress, and be able to move around in the classroom.

All of these items will help my students be able to coordinate, use their fine motor skills, and so much more! The best part is that they are all items that will be used on a daily basis in the classroom!
