This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The funded project will greatly benefit my dual-language Spanish immersion students in third and fourth grade by providing them with bilingual books on crucial topics like climate and the environment. Having these resources available in both English and Spanish will enhance their language skills and deepen their understanding of these important subjects. Organizing the books in bins will make them easily accessible and manageable for students, encouraging independent reading and exploration.
Additionally, the rug provided through the funding will serve as a versatile asset in the classroom.
Students can use it as a comfortable and inviting space to sit and enjoy their books, promoting a relaxed and engaging reading environment. The different seating options offered by the rug will cater to various learning preferences, ensuring that each student can find a spot that suits their needs while delving into the fascinating world of climate and environmental studies in both languages.
