My 7th grades students are from a rural community; often these students need more than academics. The teenage years come with a lot of change and can be very awkward and need support when it comes to remembering to practice good hygiene.
Teenagers are often very self-conscious.
They do not always remember to wear deodorant or practice good hygiene in general, and for girls, they often forget extra sanitary napkins.
Because I do not want my students' academics to be hindered by a lack of access to these supplies, I want to be able to create a supply closet where they access personal hygiene items.
