This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are the joy of my day. Although we have been virtual for the entire first semester, there is not a day that I turn on my computer that they are not already waiting for me! Even when I try to beat them, someone is there already. They are the very image of excitement for learning. There aren't any sad stories with this group. They come in wanting to know the answer to their main question "what are we learning today"? They are creative, full of energy, talkative, curious, and fun-loving! They are very respectful students who look to me (the teacher) as the solver to all of their problems. Guess what? I want to be that for them. I want to be the teacher that can solve the school-related issues for them.
My Project
Our students have been learning virtually since school began in August and are more than ready to come back to school! My students are concerned that we won't be able to keep out environment disinfected after each student's use. These supplies will enable us to be confident that student can come to school and thrive in a safe, clean environment.
Having these supplies will give our students and parents the confidence that is needed during this time.
With these supplies, I will create a "Sanitizing Station" which students will be able to see and use as needed throughout the day. Students will be eating breakfast and lunch in the classroom so much cleaning will be needed on a daily basis.
