My Project

My first grade students love to manipulate the sounds in words and build their math skills with fun items that make every learning opportunity a hands-on experience. From counting with bears, buttons, insects and plastic dinosaurs to encoding words with themed erasers and magnetic wands, first graders love to learn through play.

Manipulatives make learning multisensory and allow students to move from concrete experiences to abstract reasoning.

Manipulatives allow students to build confidence and help them verbalize their thinking. We have a variety of manipulatives in our classroom that students love using but we need a way to organize them that allows students to easily access them when needed.

I am requesting a shelf that holds 12 clear bins to organize our manipulatives. This shelf and the bins will allow our learning tools to be organized and accessed by myself, our aide and the students.
