Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am a general education teacher in a blended classroom with general education children who are three and children with special needs. These children are amazing, energetic, and very excited about being in school for the very first time. The majority of the children are bilingual and have parents who only speak Spanish.
A majority of the children also come from low-income households, so I want to make sure that they do not have to pay out-of-pocket for supplies to be successful in the classroom.
This year, we started the year remotely, but we might be going back to the classrooms this month.
My Project
We will be returning to in person classes this coming week. We have not been in the classroom since September, so we don't have many cleaning supplies now. I want the children to learn in a safe, clean classroom so getting these materials will be a great help. If this projects funds, we will receive Kleenex, disinfecting wipes, face masks, towels, and soap to have a clean classroom where the parents are comfortable to drop off their children every day. We will appreciate your help with having a clean classroom to welcome the children back.
