Clean, Organized, Exercising Mental Health Fun

My Project

My students come from a high poverty area, but they make it up with the love in their hearts. They are always willing to lend a hand and help a person in need. Despite not having a lot, they always have a positive attitude and are willing to try their best.

The materials that I chose will help me to provide some mental health relief from COVID.

As the school counselor, some of my materials will be used to promote a safe recess. The exercise equipment will be used to give student different activities to participate in during recess. Exercise helps to relieve stress and anxiety, which were some of the effects of COVID. Of course not all kids want to run around, so they'll also be given the opportunity to draw, which is also a way to relax. I want students to feel like they have a choice.

The other materials will be used in my counseling portable. A clean and organized room is the first step to making a student feel safe in my room. I want students to feel comfortable when they see me, and being in a portable, it attracts a lot of critters. I also ordered incentives and fidgets that I can use with my students that need the extra counseling support.

By providing these materials for the students at my school I hope to provide them with tools to help them be more engaged in the classroom.
