My Project

My amazing students attend a special day school for students with disabilities. They are the hardest working people that I know, whether in the classroom, cooking, working in the garden, or at Special Olympics practice.

Having clean clothes is so important to one’s mental and physical health, and caring for laundry is a skill that must be taught.

We are a Title I school, and many of my students do not have regular access to washing machines and laundry supplies.

We plan to teach students how to treat stains, wash and dry clothes, and how to fold them. We also have a number of items in our classroom that cannot be put in the washer, such as weighted blankets and vests, weighted stuffed animals, pillows, and seat cushions. We need sanitizing spray to keep these items sanitized.
