This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are 5th graders at a Title I school. Many of my students are Hispanic and in ESL. My students struggle with language barriers, but they are very critical thinkers. When given math tasks or science experiments they are very deep thinkers. Often times, they are not rewarded or recognized for all of their talents because schools often focus on English Language Arts.
I want my hard working students to realize their potential.
I want them to know they do not have to simply follow their parents' lead, but create their own path as our future engineers and technicians. They have the passion and the drive and all we need now are some resources!
My Project
Toward the end of the year our supplies diminish and our classroom is in need of so many supplies. Students start getting sick and attendance decreases when our classroom is not cleaned properly. Our new broom and dustpan would help tidy our floor, and the hand sanitizer and Kleenex would help keep us healthy. The Amazon pencils and Expo markers help to keep our classroom engaging and stimulating as my students prepare for our state assessment and 6th grade!
It is imperative that my class has a clean and stocked classroom to end the year on a high note.
In order to achieve attendance and performance goals they must have what they need! Please help us achieve our goals.
