Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from the largest school district in the state of Connecticut.
We are also one of the largest schools in our district.
Most of my students live below the poverty line, in environments that are not conducive to learning, and sometimes in circumstances we couldn't imagine. Even with these things going on around them, they make it to school every day and have an insatiable love of learning. The smiles on their faces as they walk through my classroom door every morning is truly what makes me come back each day.
My Project
The materials that I am requested are going to help my students concentrate on their work. By knowing that they can learn in a safe and clean environment, they will have one less thing to worry about. In this current pandemic climate, reassuring my students that they are as safe from sickness, by using the sanitizer and wipes to keep our room clean, as I can make them feel while in my classroom is a new reality that I and all other educators need to face. The items in this project are essential to that cause and will help me face this new educational climate.
