This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low income/high poverty school district. Every student in my Pre-k to 8th-grade school receives free breakfast and lunch. Many students are English Language Learners and special education students. My 5th graders face many challenges once they step out of my classroom every day​. While at school, I want my students to feel like it is another home. If they feel like this, they will want to come to class. My students are eager to learn and need my support and encouragement.

My students do not have access to many resources that would increase their success in school.

They need resources to expand their knowledge and know that there is more to the world than their little neighborhood.

They are enjoying learning about the world outside of their community through reading and technology.

My Project

My district has decided to return to school by fully opening. I want to make sure that my students are safe in our classroom. We will need to be sanitizing our hands, as we do not have a classroom sink. I also want to make sure that my students will have clean desks to work at. In this trying time, I want to make sure that I am doing all I can to keep my students and myself as safe as possible. Having these items will help us to keep safe and healthy at school.
