Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are curious, eager to learn and play. We are a big class of kindergarteners in the heart of downtown Ogden, Utah. They are a diverse group of students learning to cooperate and participate. We are a magnet school for STEM and I love seeing how my students approach problems. It creates many opportunities to practice resilience.

We are a class of 26 amazing students!

The pandemic has greatly affected attendance and many of my students are below grade level. But there is always a willingness to learn and move forward.

My Project

Like many, covid has made this year unique for me and my students. I would love more tissue and Lysol wipes so the students are able to help me clean their supplies and materials each day. There are many absences this year.

I would love more incentives to help students be more motivated to complete goals, even if it has to be done at home.

I'm also hoping for craft projects that can be sent home to complete if needed, a rolling cart and binders to help organize their work.

We would also love stem toys, punch cards and stamps to keep track of each accomplishment. We have a reward chest that each day students can pick out of if they had a day where they showed respect and responsibility. We are also needing items to keep the chest full. I'm grateful for donors choose and this opportunity!
