My Students

My students are my inspiration. They are generous, they are deep thinkers, they are funny, they are intellectually curious, and they see through BS like nobody else I know. They come from all sorts of backgrounds, family contexts, and home countries. And they come together to form a beautiful and inspiring community of reflective, compassionate, innovative, and driven young people.

I started crying while writing recommendations this year, because these teenagers truly are the most incredible people I know.

They ask fascinating questions, and they love to learn. They think critically, and they love their communities deeply and self-sacrificially. When I remember that they are the future of this country, I know we are all going to be ok.

My Project

Wildfire smoke is becoming more and more common. It fills our school to the point that it was actually visible indoors this week. It's causing all sorts of health problems, and is especially dangerous to young people and those with health issues like asthma. It breaks my heart to see class after class of teenagers visibly affected by this toxic air. And I've been feeling the effects myself too.

I'd love to get an air purifier for my classroom, so we can all experience some relief.

The best reviewed model for my classroom size is way out of my budget, so I'm turning to you for help. Can you help us breathe better?
