My Students
The students at our school have worked hard to excel and aim for excellence. We have brought our school grade up in the past few years while overcoming great odds. Each year the community supports where they can but, unfortunately, finances are tight in our area.
Compared to the rest of the county, our school has twice the average percentage of students with special needs, twice the average percentage of students who are homeless, and has the highest poverty rate in the county as 88% of our students receive free or reduced-price lunch.
My Project
This flu season has been especially rough on our area. Many students have been sick, and we are doing our best to keep our school clean. In an effort to keep our schools sanitary and safe, teachers and all school staff are taking extra precautions to keep the students who are at school safe from germs that may be circulating.
An air purifier would help us to clean out the germs in the air that can sometimes be missed by hard surface cleaning alone!
This device will enable me to provide a more sanitary environment for my students, while still being able to teach and help the students learn. After all, we can't teach students if they aren't at school to learn!
