My students need an air purifier for our Resource classroom. Our classroom is old and dusty. Many of our students' allergies flare up as a result of the dirty components in the air.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at this school are eager to learn, but they face many obstacles both inside and outside the classroom. They are generally lower socioeconomically, and they often face adversity in the community due to crime and other factors. They try to leave their troubles outside the school though, and focus on learning.

Once in school, they are inquisitive, enthusiastic and ready for any challenge, however too many trips to the tissue box due to allergy flare-ups distracts them and others from their learning.

My Project

Students complain daily of how much their allergies flare up in our classroom. With 25 students walking in and out every day, it has become the perfect environment for allergens and dust in the air.

Having an air purifier will produce clean air in the classroom which in turn will mean less allergy flare ups and students will be able to focus on their learning.

Unfortunately an air purifier is not something we can pay out of our own pockets, neither can the school provide it.

It would be great to have them breathe clean air when they work in our classroom. We appreciate your consideration. Thank you.
