My Project

My students absolutely love working with clay! Classroom teachers are the art teachers in my primary building so I've tried using lots of different art materials. Clay is, hands down, their favorite! Many have never gotten a chance to work with clay before and their skills amaze me! They make the most beautiful and intricate things!

Along with our creativity for art, I want my kids to exercise positive social emotional skills by recognizing the good in others.

I want to have them make portraits of each staff member and then interview others to bring out the best traits in each one. My students will write up what others love most about each staff member. We will keep it top secret and post it to surprise the whole building all at once! This will allow us to use our writing and publishing skills as well.
