My students need tools for creating fused glass art so they can sell the pieces to earn money to go to 5th grade camp!
This project expired on April 30, 2011.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
Help us get to camp! Our students are learning how to work for what they want. We are creating fused glass art and selling them in the community to raise the money needed to go to camp. We are in need of the necessary cutting tools to cut the glass pieces for the art projects we design and sell.
We are a diverse group of 5th graders from a high-poverty, integrated-arts school in Washington.
We learn the importance of reading, writing, and math, as well as the arts. We come from different backgrounds and experience, but we enjoy working together and learning from one another.
Imagine a one of a kind piece of jewelry that is absolutely breath taking. Imagine this piece of jewelry being created by a 10 year old. This is the opportunity that is being provided to this students. If these students don't get the experience to create glass fused art in the classroom, they probably will never get to experience the excitement of seeing a piece of their work as it come out of the kiln.
Providing a donation to this project will affect not only this years current 5th graders, but the entire school and community.
These tools can be used over and over again with future classes that come through this school. These supplies will touch the lives and experiences of 1,000s of students.
