Every school day, I love observing the diverse strengths each child possesses and how they grow so much each and every day! When you walk into my third-grade classroom, you will see a room filled with scientists, musicians, artists, authors, athletes, dreamers, and scholars.
As a teacher I am always looking for engaging ways to help transform my lessons to make them exciting and engaging for my 3rd graders!
Despite all of my students' academic differences, I love seeing them come together and work as a team! The students enjoy lessons with opportunities to work together and collaborate with partners and small groups.
This is my third year teaching in an elementary classroom and I couldn't be more thrilled to see these eager learners enter my classroom and continue to grow throughout the year! The 20 active learners in my classroom are all connected by homes in rural South Dakota. About 47% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunches.
My students are creative, fun, eager learners. I want to create unique experiences where they will remember their learning! These kids continuously put a smile on my face and are the reason I love coming to school each day!
My Project
As a teacher, I am always looking for ways to help transform my lessons to make them more engaging and exciting for my 3rd grade students!
My goal is to make sure that even though students are learning rigorous content, I am allowing my students to create fun opportunities for learning at the same time!
This allows them to learn from experiences. I don't want my students to be bystanders to their learning, but instead be at the center of the action by creating, construction, and exploring.
Throughout the year some of the exciting things I want to bring to my classroom are Glow Games, Pizza Fraction Restuarant, Restaurant Retell, Book Tastings, Surgical Text Features, Distributive Doctors, and many more to come! The items needed will help give items to each room set up.
I always think of this quote by Benjamin Franklin, "Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I Remember. Involve Me and I Learn." With the help of donors and community members support like yours, I hope to start bringing excitement and engagement into my classroom more throughout the year!
