My Project

Classroom transformations are engaging and highly effective teaching approach. They boost student engagement and motivation by turning the learning space into an immersive, themed environment.

I have been teaching 3rd grade (for the past 12 years) AND it’s time for a change.

I will be teaching 4th grade starting in August.

Powell County Schools are making some drastic changes. We will be starting the new year out with all new administration. Also, they will be closing down Granville Stuart School (3rd-6th grade and the cafeteria). We will be relocating to the middle school. These classrooms are smaller and they are not set up for the lower grade levels. They have one closet that is 84''x24''x42''. Also, the whiteboards are 15”x 8’. I’m trying to figure out a creative way to hang things on the cement walls (nothing is magnetic).

I will have some of the same students as I currently have now. So, I want a new, vibrant, and exciting look. My goal is to create a new classroom that will help to create a student-centered, organized, and welcoming environment. I need to minimize and declutter.
