Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am a teacher at NHS in Delaware. I teach students from grades 9-12 in a school in which half the population is below the poverty line. The overwhelming majority of my students are wonderful young people who come to school each day eager to learn. Through no fault of their own, they have limited access to basic supplies that they need in order to be successful. With the many problems these students face each and every day I am hoping that your generous gifts might eliminate them worrying about not having paper, pencils and other supplies that they are in need of.

My Project

Your generous gift will help provide each teacher's class at NHS with the basic supplies they need each and every day to complete daily assignments and projects that are assigned by their core subject teachers. These supplies will eliminate the daily frustration of students who do not have basic supplies and save countless minutes that can be redirected to the learning process.

Each teacher will be provided with a classroom pack which includes, pencils, pens, markers, scissors, folders, paper clips and other basic supplies used on a daily basis in our classes.

Your generous gift can help over a thousand students from grades 9-12 throughout an entire school year. This request has been specifically designed to provide the biggest impact for the donation requested.
