Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are learning in a Universal Transitional Kindergarten Collaborative Classroom. They have different disabilities ranging from Autism Spectrum Disorder, Speech and Language Impairment, Down Syndrome, and Other Health Impairments. My students love to learn by touching, moving, and most of all by being with their peers. The items that I need are to help them move their bodies, learn while exploring with their senses, and to have basic supplies to help with their learning.

Daily movement is vital to kids' overall wellness.

Being active can improve kids' physical health, social and emotional wellness, and academic performance. Having a portable air pump will help us fill up the kids balls and equipment. Playing with balls during outdoor time can help them continue developing social skills and gross motor skills.

The play-doh is honestly their favorite thing to use inside of the classroom. We use it to count, to create letters, to make designs, and to continue developing their fine motor skills. I also use the play-doh with my students who need more support with sensory needs.

The markers, laminating sheets, velcro dots, and magnet tape are all to be used with my students who need extra support. My students need visuals and a lot of velcro! We are constantly placing items around the classroom to support each and every one of them!
