My Project

These supplies will help our students be more engaged in my math classroom. There is a variety of supplies requested for different reasons but all will help with their engagement and participation in class.

The supplies for the dry erase boards will help them to participate individually, in pairs, or in groups during instruction.

For example, when doing a math problem on the board, I may ask them to work with a partner to solve on their boards first. This allows me to see which students are comprehending it and which students may need more help with the topic. The chart paper is really helpful as we make a lot of anchor charts in the classroom. The students benefit from these in the classroom and use older ones as a reminder as we move onto new topics.

There are many benefits to the headphones. I currently do not have any for the students to borrow, which is hard for those students who may not have the means to get any. They will be beneficial for independent work, or during testing. I allow my students to listen to music during independent work because it can help some students concentrate or help them relax while in class.

The folders are so they have a place to keep their note sheets that we do in class. I noticed that many lose their notes or they get crumbled up, etc. This is a great way for my students to keep them and not lose them. They also can easily pull it out to reference them.
