My students are some of the most imaginative, positive, and capable kids in St. Paul, Minnesota. I work with an amazing group of high school students in a self-contained special education classroom. Many of my students face obstacles greater than most of us can imagine, and they continue to bring themselves to school, put on a smile, and actively learn.
My students are committed to pushing themselves to reach their goals, changing the world, and they often find themselves encouraging others to do the same.
I have no doubt each one of my students will be successful in all of their endeavors as they learn, grow, and change throughout their lives. My students have grown and matured throughout the years I have had the honor to know them. I am excited to see what the future holds for them as they grow and mature.
My Project
My high school special needs students will benefit from additional classroom supplies, as well as social emotional learning games. Many of my students need hands on lessons to ensure the content is understood and transferable to spaces outside of school. We look forward to using the social skills games in class to learn appropriate behaviors. My students have school issued iPads, but many are without reliable headphones and will benefit from this item. In addition, drawing paper and pencil sharpeners are useful when we have time to be creative in the classroom.
