This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Get ready to embark on an exciting adventure with our students! We are thrilled to introduce our classroom store, a vibrant, hands-on learning experience designed to teach financial literacy in a fun and engaging way!

Imagine a bustling little marketplace right in our classroom, where students can earn, save, and spend their very own classroom currency.

How will it all come together?

Our classroom store will be a delightful place where students can “shop” for fun items like school supplies, stickers, and even special rewards like homework passes! They’ll learn the value of money as they make choices about what to buy and how to budget their earnings.

Each student will receive “Classroom Dollars” to earn through participation, good behavior, and completing tasks. They’ll see firsthand how hard work pays off! On designated shopping days, our classroom will transform into a mini-store, filled with treasures just waiting to be purchased. Students will practice making decisions, calculating totals, and even making change—just like in the real world!

Financial literacy is a vital skill for success, and our classroom store provides a fun way for students to learn about budgeting, saving, and spending wisely. They’ll build confidence as they navigate their own shopping experiences, make choices and reflect on their spending habits.
