My Project

In first grade, students are learning how to become independent learners and individuals. One way for students to become more independent is learning how to manage their school supplies and papers. With the correct types of organization and training, students can maintain their learning environment which will set them up for success.

I hope to use the storage shelfs for students to keep their daily supplies, which will give them easier access to the items they need to learn and succeed.

I also plan to use the mailboxes to help organize students' papers upon grading and returning to families. With having a mailbox system in place, all students will know where their assignments and class work need to be placed. This helps clarify any confusion among kids. For the plastic baskets, I plan to organize my classroom library in a more child-friendly way. When having a classroom library, I want for students to be able to easily find books they are interested in. These baskets will help me group and label books based on student interest and genre.

My goal in this project is to help my first graders become established learners and responsible for their day to day learning and organization, so they can become successful individuals.
