This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher of second graders in a Title I school. My students have a joy for learning! They are full of joy and I am in awe of how hard they work every day with happy hearts. Our motto is “We can do hard things!” Their learning is growing every day, despite the fact that they are all English language learners. They are astoundingly resilient, and teach me something new every day. I am so proud of these sweet second graders and want the best learning opportunities for them!

My Project

We use headphones daily during interactive reading lessons, math lessons, and research projects. Headphones are listed on our classroom supply list, but my students’ families either can not afford them, or purchase them from discount stores, and they last about a week. Using headphones during these lessons helps with concentration, and takes away any distraction of noise during learning time. These headphones are only about $10 a piece, but add up when we have a full class to supply for. We need some help getting a good quality set of headphones to enhance our learning experience! Thank you so much!
