My Students

Teaching third grade is an incredible experience. I have been working at my school since 2014, and this upcoming school year will be my third year teaching third grade! I take pride in being part of a community that creates hands-on learning experiences for each child. Creating a classroom environment that promotes a positive climate, student led learning and a place where meaningful relationships can be created is very important to me. It may be summer now, but I am always trying to find ways to enhance my classroom to meet the needs of all the different types of learners I may come across. I look forward to meeting my new students in this upcoming school year.

My Project

I am looking to enhance my students' learning experiences in my classroom by incorporating a large rug to use for many different things. My students meet daily during our "Crew" or also known as morning meeting. During this time, we spend time team building, discussing important character building related topics and I conduct a daily read aloud. This carpet will help provide a comfortable space for my students to participate in this important daily activity. I would also use this rug during mini-lessons as a place for my students to come and sit while I instruct using the interactive white board. The rug will provide students with a place to sit and have easy access to using the interactive white board, making instruction more meaningful.
