My students need this rug to provide an alternative seating option. This rug will be a great addition to our classroom as a place to gather to listen to books and learn new art projects.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
For many students, art and art class is an outlet for them to get away from the pressures of expectations with grades and home life. It allows them to learn in a hands on and experimental way which they can express themselves, no matter their mood.
For my students, art is a way to express their feelings and moods.
They too love to explore the multitude of materials, artists, and techniques. It doesn't matter where they came from or where they are going in my art room, it matters that if they try their best then they will take away the most important lesson of all, the ability to express themselves in a positive way.
My Project
By adding this rug to our classroom, it will provide a new seating area for students to gather to listen to books, have classroom discussions, learn about new art projects, and provide an alternative seating option. As of now, there is no where for students to comfortably gather in the classroom for full class discussions and instructional demonstrations.
Students of all ages will be able to enjoy what this rug will provide, a comfy and inviting learning environment!
Students will be able to gather at the rug during designated times, as well as allowing for a more flexible seating arrangement if the student wishes.
