My Project

My middle school ELA classroom is a place where young thinkers are learning to find their voices and navigate the complexities of literature. My students are at a pivotal age where they are moving from simple reading to deep, critical analysis, and they thrive when they can express their ideas visually and tangibly. To keep this momentum going, we need the basic building blocks of a creative workspace: markers for collaborative projects, ink for our classroom printer, and labels to keep our growing classroom library in check.

In our daily lessons, literature often comes to life through "One-Pagers" and collaborative posters where students map out character arcs and thematic shifts.

Fresh markers are more than just art supplies; they are tools for visual thinking that allow students to color-code their evidence and make literary connections they might otherwise miss in a standard essay. Furthermore, having a functional printer with plenty of ink allows me to provide students with high-quality resources. There is a specific kind of pride that lights up a middle schooler's face when they see their own words printed clearly on a page, turning a digital draft into a tangible accomplishment they can take home.

Beyond the creative work, these supplies will help us maintain the structure that middle schoolers need to succeed. We are constantly expanding our classroom library to include diverse voices that mirror my students’ own experiences, but keeping hundreds of books organized for over a hundred rotating students is a monumental task. By using labels to categorize and track our titles, we can ensure that our library remains a functional resource rather than a cluttered shelf. Your support will help us transform our classroom into a professional, organized environment where students feel like the serious writers and researchers they are becoming.
