Classroom Reset Resources

Help me give my students a variety of ways to reset in the classroom. Some of my students like drawing, others like to read, look at pictures, play with tactile toys, etc.

My Students

Coral Canyon is in an interesting position. We used to be considered Title I, and though the demographics haven't changed we are no longer designated Title I, so there is very limited funding.

My second graders are remarkable young people.

They are hard working, kind, and try to do what's right. They were Kindergarteners when the 2020 COVID-19 lock-down first happened, and due to access discrepancies to online instruction, several student have academic holes, not to mention socio-emotional needs.

My Project

When students are upset they need a place to reset their emotions. I want to make my classroom the best place in the school, which will allow students to get into a learning/safe headspace more quickly than if they had to leave or go to another room.

My reset station will consist of sand turners, cinesthetic manipulatives, drawing implements, self-help books, National Geographic photo anthologies, and a diffuser with essential oils.

This reset station will help my students gain tools they need to help them manage their emotions as they grow through the year.
