My Project

My students struggle with reading like so many kids in today’s world. What I love most about my kids is their constant striving for growth. If I give them a challenge, they are going to face that challenge head-on with 110% effort. They constantly give their best to exceed growth and show just how capable they are of succeeding. This year, I want to give them their own area in my classroom where they can go to work on their reading comprehension skills and their literacy skills. This in-class library setup will allow my students to work on their reading skills in a space that feels comfortable and accessible. I will use this space as a resource for students to silently read passages, work in small groups, and a space to post their growth throughout the year so that they can have ownership over their own learning. My kids work so hard to grow and reach the heights of challenges that sometimes simply cannot be reached, but that does not scare my students at all. In fact, it empowers them to show just how capable and resilient they are when faced with challenges.
