My Project

Lack of supplies - who has time for that? Each school day is filled with distractions, but having plenty of supplies to address common needs reduces those distractions and allows more time focused on learning goals. This project aims to provide essential classroom materials that will address this concern.

There just never seem to be enough, charging stations, pencils, and facial tissues.

As a one-to-one technology school, we are always using our iPads and having charging stations available in the classroom ensures that students are always able to be engaged in online learning. However, we know that a balance between technology and traditional pencil/paper note taking and work is overall better for student retention of material. In a tech driven world, students rarely think about having a pencil, so having a stock pile in the room makes everyone's lives easier.

Facial tissues - Yes, they get their own paragraph. Post-Covid, where we are more aware of germs than ever, not having enough tissues for runny stuffy noses is gross and unsanitary. When students have to leave the room, even just for toilet paper to blow their nose, they lose classroom instructional minutes. I know we all used to provide tissues, but at the middle school level, we are splitting classroom supplies among 5-7 teachers for each student.
