This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach special education grades 6-8. My students have a range of learning disabilities. They are excited to learn however, they understand their own personal needs. I have students who cannot decode or write yet. However, they are always excited to be in school.
I teach in a low income community where my students do not have access to technology.
Their background include students from immigrant families and African Americans. Parents work various shifts to provide for their families. Our neighborhood is located in one of the most economically disadvantage areas poverty and transient families is common. Our school is very limited in resources and I would love to expose them to many other things. My students need access to different technological tools.
My Project
The printer, ink, paper, and USB flash drives will allow my students to print and publish their history research papers. As a history teacher we are always working on different expository/informational writing pieces and having a type publish work will given them more encouragement on themselves. They will be able to publish and share what they learned.
My students are very eager to get a printer and be able to publish their work.
These materials are essential in my classroom. My students are going to be very excited to have this printer that is necessary to publish their work.
Thank you in advance for taking the time to donate to my students.
