Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students at our school are amazing. They walk into the classroom every day with a smile and always have positive words to say. The biggest challenge we face is lack of funding for classroom materials in our classroom. The students have been reading so much that they need new books that are at their reading level. In our class, we will practice reading and text analysis, while having a fun time creating a safe space for students who have limited opportunities to participate in activities.
My Project
Students at our school are amazing. They walk into the classroom every day with a smile and always have positive words to say. The biggest challenge we face is lack of funding for classroom materials in our district. The students have been writing so much they need a way to show their parents all the wonderful work they have done. In our class, we will practice writing and typing, while having a fun time creating a safe space for students who have limited opportunities to print out materials.
Students will develop skills through this project that will prepare them for college and their careers by writing more and actually having a printed document they can put in their portfolio.
We are focusing heavily on writing comprehension and the way we are going to increase our knowledge is by writing more. This aligns with the Common Core State Standards that are used in our classroom which ensures that students are prepared for college and career readiness.
By donating to my project, you are helping my students receive the materials they need to be successful. A classroom printer is being requested for an Honors English Language Arts and Journalism classes at a school with 100% of students receiving free lunch. This means that we are a high poverty school and having our assignments/work printed is generally out of the question.
My mission is to give students the academic support and performance data they need so that they will be college and career ready one day.
There is a lot of writing that occurs in our classroom so this printer will be perfect. Thank you for considering my project.
