Classroom Pantry

Help me give my students a snack to eat when they are hungry! Many only eat at school.

My Project

As a first year teacher I saw an immediate need in my school. So many of my students do not have access to food at home and depend solely on what the cafeteria provides them.When they don't have access to food, it makes everything so much harder. I am working incredibly hard to keep a pantry stocked with snacks so I am able to send bags home on weekends and holidays, have snacks on hand when someone has nothing and be able to provide for my students when they are hungry.

Students are not able to thrive and be successful when they are hungry.

Middle school is hard enough, they shouldn't have to worry about when they will get to eat next. I hope to be able to provide for my students, but also use this as an opportunity to teach and show them how much better the world is when we all work together. I would also hope to one day take this one step further than jut a food pantry, but right now that's most important.
