This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
If you looked in my room you would see organization. Throughout the day and various activities the room and tables become more and more disorganized. This is where I am asking for help. I am requesting a few but crucial items I believe could help us.
My students are your typical-at risk students.
They live in the immediate area around my school, which is centrally located in a major Mississippi city. We are in a low socioeconomic status area with frequent reports of crime/violence after school hours. They amaze me at how hard they try every day and their attitude, despite having an extremely challenging home life.
My Project
I am requesting these classroom items to assist the students in staying organized, staying focused, and learning responsibility. The chair bags will be for students at each table who will lead their table partners for the day. The rolling white board and storage is for added organizaiton. I can roll it easily around the room to reach students up close with information. The soft seating is for students to use around the room to read on.
Overall, my goal is to create a more organized classroom that runs smoothly and is appealing to my students.
These materials will help me utilize each minute to the best of my abilities.
