My students are awesome! They all come from diverse backgrounds, but they come ready to learn and soak up new experiences. Although our school is in a rural community, we have a diverse population of students. Many of our students are fairly new to our country and are just learning to speak English.
My classroom is a place where kids can come together to learn and have fun regardless of their differences or needs.
Throughout the school year, we work hard to improve academically, socially, emotionally and we build relationships within the community.
The supplies provided through this project are basic supplies that we use every day in class and many are supplies that students wouldn't have otherwise. In our classroom, we learn about writing and strategies to assist with reading. We try to take very good care of our materials within our classroom but some materials don't "keep giving" without being replenished.
Providing basic supplies in class allows for a more productive, less stressful environment for students.
Supplies such as pens, markers, post it notes are much needed in our room at this time. My students will appreciate all supplies they get and will utilize them in not only my class, but also set them up for success in other classes. By giving a student who does not have a pencil at the start of their day, it lends them to continue to work throughout the day.
