My Students

I have the pleasure of having such an amazing and diverse group of students. My students have been placed in a self-contained classroom for students labeled as having multiple disabilities. My students have disabilities that range from intellectual to physical disabilities, to other health impairments.

Some of the students require intensive, individualized, and frequent instruction to allow them to be as functional and independent within the community.

Some skills that are of the utmost importance are communication skills (having their own communication system), basic math skills (like number recognition), and basic literacy skills (like identifying letters or their names).

Most importantly, despite disabilities and being in a low-income area, they are great students. They are crazy, fun-loving, determined, and bright young minds. They make my day interesting and not one single day is the same. That's the life in a special education classroom, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

My Project

COVID is not going anywhere. We need to amp up our protection and cleanliness in our classroom, not only for our kiddos, but ourselves as the educators as well.

We need some of these essential supplies to stay safe & healthy.

We run out of gloves daily, so we need a decent amount to keep us afloat. We use gloves for changing students diapers, feeding students, wiping noses, etc. We need a ton of disinfecting wipes to clean toys, tables, wheelchairs, equipment, etc. We can never be too clean! In times like today, we have to stay vigilant. We also are in need of tissues, because it seems like runny noses are running rampant these days! When it comes to masks, we can NEVER have too many!

We really just need it all in times like this. We appreciate any help to stay safe!
