My Students

My classroom is full of 25 students, with a variety of ability levels, who come in ready to learn each day! I try to create a classroom environment that accepts students’ differences and embraces their personalities as well as their skill levels. My class is full of inquisitive and curious students who are constantly asking questions and seeking answers. Not only are they learning 4th grade academic standards, but they are also learning lifelong skills and lessons that will help them become successful in the future.

My Project

For more than a year, students have been learning in a construction zone. Our school is currently undergoing a lot of construction. They are resilient and have learned to block out many construction noises and continue to learn through the construction mess. When we finally get to move into our 'new' classroom, I'd love to give our classroom a move over that makes our room feel like home. Unfortunately, the classroom we will move into, it's actually new and won't look like the beautiful new classrooms, so I'd like to give it a make over and make it as inviting as possible for my students. There will be several updated and new classrooms, but the classroom we will move into won't be one of the new ones. It will be a classroom that hasn't been updated.

I'd like for our classroom to feel like home- safe, cozy, and welcoming.

Our classroom should be a place to learn a grow! That will be the theme of our room as students are welcomed to a beautiful and organized, clean classroom with plants growing and a feel like home. Students will be greeted at the door with welcoming signs. Students will be able to hang their work on bulletin boards displayed throughout the classroom with beautiful papers and boarders. There will be cozy light throughout the room provided by lamps instead of harsh overhead lights. The classroom library will be organized with labels for levels. The alphabet and calendar will provide students with assistance and students will have name tags & cubbies labeled for their supplies. While we may not be getting a newly remodeled classroom, students will have a beautiful "new" classroom to learn in.
