My Students

Our SMS project-based learning team is full of curious students who want to learn more deeply through active exploration of real-world challenges and problems. We plan to do some hard-core collaboration and exploration, and our current 1960s furniture isn't going to cut it.

Really, who wants to sit behind a desk all day?

Students need a classroom that will allow them to explore, provide opportunities for both group work and independent experiences, and most importantly be a safe space to take intellectual risks! These are kids who want to be up and moving around at one moment and cozied up with a good book next, and they need a classroom environment that adapts to their needs.

My Project

We came about halfway to our goal during the last DonorsChoose.org project, and I thank everyone who donated! This time around, we are asking for just two basic things to get us started.

A standing desk and a sturdy table for the cozy corner will help us achieve our goal of flexible seating.

It's just a start, but it's a good start. Some kids love to sit in the cozy corner, but they still need to have a sturdy table to hold their belongings. And a standing desk is sure to be popular with our fidgety kids!

We only need a few small donations to get us where we need to be. Thanks for helping us achieve our goals!
