Classroom Makeover Part 1

Help me give my students reading nooks. The benches would provide a designated space for students to go to and read the Latin novellas we have in our classroom.

My Project

My students dedicated learners eager expand and challenge their knowledge of Latin. With that in mind, I want to create designated spaces in the classroom where students can go to read novellas in our target language. As with any language comprehension is key to acquisition. Through a selection of novellas the students can enhance their comprehension. By creating designated spaces through reading nooks, students will have an area that will help them focus and make it more likely for them to utilize the materials in class.

Reading nooks will provide students with more opportunities for digging into a captivating story.

When we have time during class for independent work, a reading nook with storage benches will give students a place to read our novellas as often times they don't have time at home to do so. This will encourage more students to grow their comprehension and help them make positive impactful decisions in their learning. This project is the first part of my classroom makeover in which I plan to make the room more student focused for learning, thus helping them become responsible learners. I want the classroom to be a room they can be proud to be in and claim it as their room.
