Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My day starts with a greeting smile from my students. They are always ready to begin a new day full of learning experiences that will engage them to be creative and inquisitive. My students are always reflecting on their learning experiences and how they can apply this learning outside school.
I have been very fortunate to work with an amazing and creative second grade class at our school.
My kids are always eager to apply what they learn in the classroom in meaningful experiences outside school. I feel very proud to be their teacher and a member of the staff at our school where every teacher goes above and beyond to meet the students' needs. It has been an amazing experience to see how every single staff member always interacts with such a positive attitude to create the best learning environment for our students.
My Project
My students will use the literacy library to create and share projects. They will have the opportunity to use the literacy library to create presentations, improve vocabulary, their independent reading and writing skills. Daily small group instruction will be in place using this library to teach students reading comprehension skills, phonics, vocabulary, reading strategies and writing projects to be used for classroom presentations.
Donations to this project will improve my classroom by opening windows of opportunities to integrate and explore literacy skills connected with their reading and writing goals.
I believe that a classrom library will bring new motivational and competitive insights for my students. It will definitely make a difference for my students that lack resources at home. My goal is for my students to excel their literacy skills and learning experiences through the use of books and magazines based on current trends that will motivate them.
