Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Oprah Winfrey once said, "Books showed me there were possibilities in life, that there were actually people like me living in a world I could not only aspire to but attain. Reading gave me hope. For me, it was the open door.”

Please consider helping my students open their doors to countless adventures by reading a wonderful book.

My students enjoy reading and are always excited when a new book is added to our library. As a "seasoned" teacher who is maintaining her classroom library, I have noticed that some of our books have received a lot of love and usage and are showing signs of such! Therefore, I'm in the process of refreshing some of our beloved books to make a positive impact on my students' passion for reading.

It is my hope that adding newer books will encourage my students to once again renew their interest and not turn away from books that have seen better days. Every one of my students is different and I would love to refresh the library to reach each of their needs and interests. I truly believe that a book is a gift that you can open again and again. I would love to give this gift to my students.
